Optima Yellow Top!
Ric-H2 |
My 05 is not to old but I have been wondering if it may be better to replace factory batt with yellow top Optima. I was thinking with adding more lights although they will not get used alot if factory batt would hold up. I actually thought about a dual battery set up with a Optima yellow if I could arrange it. Has anyone done a dual batt set up and have a drawing or picture?
Thanks TAZ <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by RIC-H2: Optima Yellow Top! Ric-H2 <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> |

We use my truck for music and TV when we sit out in the driveway and drink. Last time we were out the battery went 100% dead only after 2 hours of just the radio. I just think I need a bigger battery.

You should definately go with the yellow optima.

It is extremely unlikely that just running your radio for two hours would discharge a halfway decent battery. Not even if you had it cranked up to where the neighbors were complaining.
However, if the battery was not "halfway decent" or, as sfox suggests, perhaps there is some other cause of electrical draining, then those problems ought to be investigated. I'm not saying that your battery doesn't need to be replaced. It might be necessary now if some other issue has shortened the life of your battery. Good luck. |
