This topic's come up before several times but with no conclusions:

h2 bugshields??? deflectors?

Bug deflector for H2's?

plus others ...
Here's some links to the tape-on kind:

Hummer Bug Shield

Same shield different vendor I think
Speculations were that it wouldn't work well enough because it's too small. But has anyone actually tried one and proven or disproven this theory?

It's harvest time in theez here corn feelds and the bugs are nasty.

I have a new smoked Bug Sheild if you or anybody want 1
I never installed it because I didn't like the way it looked on Pewter.
I don't think it would stop any bugs from hitting the windsheild. It might work for pebbles or rocks if 1 happen to hit the screen but the odds of that are slim.
I paid $65.00 + shipping
New in box $45.00 shipped
PM me if interested.
Jim

I think they come in clear, smoked, and carbon fiber. But the real question is: Do they actually work?

I doubt it

Not to poo poo the replies so far, but all the existing threads have only speculated.

It'd be real nice to hear from someone who's actually tried the product. I'm sure many of us would appreciate some real observations.

I have been looking for a "stars and strips" bug deflector. For the majority of the length it was red and white stripes (about 3 red and 2 white), but on the left side was the left blue field with a few stars.

I have seen them for other trucks, and it looked real good. It was about 5 inches high, and was the entire width of the truck. But, so far, I have not seen it for the H2.

WTF? Why are the manufacturers not jumping on making for the H2? Don't they realize that H2 owners generally have money?

ChuckE,
Is this the flag one here (See the "Patriot" model at the top)?

No H2 version.

I have the GTO taped one (http://www.mossh2.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=41229&SortOrder=2)
and it works great, it reduced the bugs hitting the windshield in 90% +/-, I like it

NJ H2 10-10-2005 08:42 PM

Wow ... I'm shocked it works so good. That looks exactly like the 1 I have. I just don't like the way it looks on my H2.
Still for sale if anyone wants it!

JMVH2,
Excellent news.

I don't suppose you have a picture of your truck with the shield mounted? The shield looks pretty decent in the link you posted, but that picture is cropped very tightly on the hood and it'd be nice to see it along with the rest of the lines on the truck to see how well it fits the look.

VTSTOMPER 10-11-2005 01:20 AM

JMVH2,

Is it GTS? I used to have GTS on my old trucks...

For me it worked great, protects all the windshield beside 2 to 3 inches (from the outer side of the windshield to the inside in a vertical pattern) on the right or left side, bugs still hitting that area (I think is due to the way it follows the hood sections/design see picture below) the rest of the windshield is protected as I mentioned before (90 % +/-).

ree, I do not have a recent picture of the truck, but I will take one and posted soon.

VTSTOMPER Yes it is GTS my mistake

It appears to be pretty close to the one I had seen on some truck (over a year ago). I seem to remember a bit more waviness in the stripes, but I could be wrong. Either way, I would get one, IF there was an H2 one. But ...
