I live in Las Vegas and during the day I have to park under the sun. When I leave at 5pm the temp can be 115 to 124 inside the car. While driving home I can feel a block of hot air collecting in the back seat and cargo area. The funny thing is I have to roll down the windows to let in the hot out side air to displace the super heated air trapped in my car. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hey Albie. Even though it doesn't get that hot here, I always crack the rear windows to get that nasty hot air out.

Too bad there's not shade behind that Pyramid. huh?

I do the same thing down here in my current SUV. I have had to do that with every SUV that I have had.

I leave the rear SUT window down just a tad...plus the over hang keeps the rain out if it happens to pour.

I always left the sunroof popped up in previous SUVs but don't have one in the current one. It really helps a lot like VTStomper mentioned about the back window. If only the back window of the H2 SUV or H3 would roll down

The stock plastic louvers above the brake lights have a series of holes in them. I suppose it would be possible to cut a hole in the interior rear panel above each stereo speaker and install a switched computer cooling fan in each opening to suck the hot air out. You'd also need to cut a hole in the metal of the car at the rear (scarey proposition). I suppose a downside would be the vent holes would let outside noise enter the vehicle at the rear.

A simpler solution might be one of those solar powered exhaust fans that fit in a car's side window -- -- you power the window shut to hold the fan in place. Don't know if the second row window tint would prevent the solar motor from running.

Just some thoughts.

They also have fans like George mentioned that only come on if the interior temp reaches a certain point. I have also seen in the past a system that rolls your windows down about an inch if the interior temp reaches a certain point. I think for the time being, I will stick with rolling the back windows down about half way.

Thanks everyone I cracked the back windows open and sun roof. It seems to help. I like the computer fan Idea...

I thought the temp on the mirror was the OUTSIDE temp...why are you showing a picture of it when discussin the temp insdie the car?

I have not double checked in a while but, the black rear vent already has a one way valve to let pressure out of the cabin. Turn Your AC on high and You should be able to walk around back and feel the air moving out. But, it is not in a large volume thus not a solution. I just use express window for about 5 minutes and express window up and it cools off fairly quick. Even quicker with the dual electric fans on radiator now. It used to take allot longer to cool cabin down but, AC jumps up colder faster.

I start the H2, full on AC, pop the back hatch for aboot 30 seconds, close the hatch, get in and drive off.
