They are painted in body color. The guys who did it are specialists in modding cars, but they won't tell me what trick they use. The only thing I know is that the rims were NOT "de-chromized", only grounded and primed with some special primer.

I've known that styling garage for years, so I trust them that the paint works on the rims (they gave me a guarantee on that too).

Driven around for around 3k miles so far... no problems with the paint whatsoever.
