They look cool I wonder if $300 is for 4?
|
Yes they look good but what if you open the door when you haven't got the clearence? Would the motors stop running? Can you switch them off from inside?
|
Justin, it is $300 each.
For 4 steps, which is 2 per side, that's $1200. |
I believe they are Kodiak brand. We bought one for my mom to get into her full size Blazer. Yet to install after 6mos. They are definitely 300per
|
I have seen these, and they are fine--they do show when fully up.
Power Amp makes a great step that when retracted looks like the side bar. They are the step of chice these days. amp-research.com NO I AM not a salesman for them. |
Do they fold up above the rock rail? I would be concerned about them on the trail. They look like and easy part to snag and bend/break.
|
No retractable step is good for the trail in my opinion.

My retractables have been on for about ten months with no problem... You can see how "visible" they are........... |
Mr Ed,
What brand are your retractables? And where did you get them? Thanks |
They are Kodiaks from Truckperformance.com
Got the black ones for $160... |
Mr Ed,
Do you have a pic with them down?? Also, I'm 250lbs...will these hold up? |
No pic but i will try and post one later today for you...
I'm 6'4", 230 and no problem........ Only gripe I've heard is from the wife... she wants a wider step..... Oh well, can't have it all!! :-) Ed |

Thanks for the pictures...
How hard was the install??? Any cutting involved? |
The 4x4 shop that I deal with did my two steps for $50..... DEAL as far as I was concerned!
Yes, it does involve some cutting.. Check this out http://www.kodiaksidewinder.com/Images/1422149H2R1.pdf ED |
One last question....(I appreciate you taking the time to answer all of the questions).
What is the distance from the bottom of the rocker bar to the step platform when it is extended? I ask becasue my H2 is not lifted and I see yours is lifted. My concern is the step will come down too far to make it effective. Thanks |
