The H3 is great in the snow as everyone in the NE has found out but the frozen wiper blades was a major issue for me 86mi in Blizzard conditions to the Poconos and I must have stopped 5 or 6 time to de-ice. Any suggestions to solve this issue.

The defrost was on Full Blast.

I saw that it was mentioned somewhere on this forum that Husky (I think) makes a good winter blade. I am going to get them. We found out early o heren in the mountains the H3 blades can get really bad....I had to stop several times over a 10 mile drive last week...but we were getting pounded up here in Breckenridge.

I checked in tha manual and FYI the blades are not the same length. NAPA also has no idea what I was talking about so they were no help. I will repost the info if I find the Husky type.

Wiper blades and the over spray past the mud flaps onto the rear fenders are really my only issues with my rig. No too bad if you ask me. I am also going to get new custom flaps...I get a ton of weather/snow and want to take some more preventative measures.

From the factory, blades sizes are 16.7 (driver) 15.7 passenger. I originally purchased Trico snow blades 17 (driver) 16 (passenger) and they fit great. However, Trico blades are, terrible, and right away they started to streak.
I eventually replaced both with 16 inch Anco snow blades and that solves the problem with them icing up inside, causing streaking and generally poor wiping conditions.

As for an auto parts store not knowing about different size blades...well, I would guess the majority of vehicles made in the past few years have a longer driver side blade.

I use rainex de-icer wiper fluid.Just give it a few squirts it seems to work.

I had the same problem went to Auto Zone and brought winter blades. Big difference.

I had mine out in our first big snow .. and yes the stock blades suck ..

Posted this pic in the "Snow Pic" thread but yeah i have to agree these wipers really suck.

I guess I mis spoke. It is not that they do not understand that the size is different they could not figure out the replacement product number neither could a local GM dealer. The Hummmer Dealer is 80 miles away and they first said to use RainX....uh sure easy to say in Denver where they get almost no snow....we have had over 285" so far this year.

But the H3 has gone anywhere I have asked it to go...including a mile further up the snow covered forest service road to cut christmas trees than the other vehicles which were littered in the ditch on the side of the road as I cruised by.

Anyone tried the Bosch? I had the same problem when I went up to the snow a few weeks ago with the factory blades. Going back up to Tahoe again this weekend with the Bosch installed and was wondering if anyone already tested these.

I used Bosch on my Explorer (traded for the H3). They worked wonderful in PA winters. I also use the anti-ice windshield solvent fluid that I think Prestone makes. All the above seemed to work pretty well. I also cared a bottle of spray on de-icer. I tried the latter a couple times and it had a bit to be desired. It wasn't terribly effective.

Yeah, Prestone Deicer is the best. I gonna have to get me some winter blades for my first winter in the H3. Hope the stock tires do ok in the snow.

I live in the great white north and I swear by flexible wiper blades. They never freeze or streak. It will be one of the first additions to my Hummer when it finally arrives. Man, 8 weeks is a long time when you are waiting for your H3.
