So need to put new tires on my '96 H1....is the dealership the only ones that can change them out? Thanks for your input...

Ok, Truth is anybody can change them, Will they??. I've found that quite a few will not if you have run flats. My local dealer in Columbus Ohio wanted $680.00 to change them. First time I did it my self took 6Hrs from first off to last on. bigest hurdel is runflats. you'll find many threads on this and other forums weather to keep them or lose them. it all comes down to personal choice. I would recomend you change them your self. If your ever off road and you need to do it then would not be the best time to be doing it for the first time.

If you have any plans of keeping your H1 and doing your own tire work get rid of the runflats asap or invest in a good runflat compressor. Dealers will likely quote you $500+ and honestly its a fair price. They are a friggin bitch to work with the runflats installed. I'm assuming one-piece runflats with 2pc rims here.

I probably should ask what rims and tires you currently have. There are 2pc runflats in some of the older models that are so much easier to remove. I replaced my 1pc runflats with the factory beadlocks. So much better and can usually be had for around $300 or so aftermarket.

I do not have run flats...they are aftermarket wheels...other then CTIS, i dont see ayhting being difficult in changing them out...i dont have the equipment to do it myself, and the dealership wants $200 each ($800 total) just to change them....i talked with some local tire stores and they are all too chicken to try....

Tire irons will set yo back $30 for two (get the big ones) compressor about $100 and up. 1 can propain for beading the tires $1.50. 1 can WD40 for spraying bead(helps get on and off rim)$1.50. experiance of fixin it your self as they say priceless
