Hi,

Shop tried to install the AVIC D1 into my wifes h3 ( with monsoon) and couldnt get the amps to power up. we used the OS4 module for onstar and had no luck.
who has installed this unit on the H3 with monsoon and got everything including onstar to work and could you give ne step by step info please and thanks!!

Start with clicking on find and see if there are any posts on AVIC D1 ,nav ect. I didnt have the monsoon sysyem

i did. i dont see a specific monsoon, avic d1, onstar instruction thread

non monsoon shouldnt be to different on the install compared to the non-monsoon. Except for wire coloring.

First, Id double check the wires the installer did from the OS4 module to the wiring harnes of the D1.

second, make sure the two purple wires as shown on this picture at spliced together. If this isnt done your on-star will not work. Just use any wire to tap the two purple wires together.

it could be that the installer didnt wire your harness correctly.

There are actually 3 purple wires to connect together (2 on the 24 pin plug and 1 on the 12 pin). The wiring is different with monsoon as opposed to without. Make sure you hooked up the correct amp turn on lead and that it is getting 12v when the ignition is on.
