$89 for first oil change here in Silicon Valley.

Not talking about the oil change....the 5,000 mile first service...
If you are doing "service" at 5K you are overmaintaining, but the dealer will gladly profit. Check the manual.

Aww...I hadnt read my manual..I'm busted there. I havent taken it in...but I thought I heard on here there was a 5k service. Anyone know when the first service is? Its too cold to run out to the hummer, hehe.
Our dealer (Hummer of Thousand Oaks) does the first oil & filter change free. So far (60 days), we have nothing else that needs attention.

I took mine in last Saturday for its' 5K oil change. Had a couple of minor noises that they corrected...but they found 2 nails in one of my tires...one in the sidewall...Soooo...$50 Oil & Filter change & a $80 + Labor for Tire replacement(they just used one of the several tires they had in stock that others had upgraded from). When is the first service due?

I hope that $80 Labor charge included the cost of the used tire.
Nope. He charged me $80 for the tire and $30 to balance & put it on...I was 's#%*^&d' because he showed me the tire and the 2 holes from nails....one was clearly in the sidewall. I thought it wasn't a bad price...the tire was effectively new anyway...give or take a few hundred miles.

Thats not bad. I thought that they charged you the $80 for the mount and balance which would have been bad.

I was able to purchase tire insurance when i signed the papers to buy my H3. It added $4.00 to each monthly pymt but i get my tire replaced for free if it becomes defective for any reason,"example-gets a nail stuck in it. Pretty good deal. If any of you buy from Sewell Hummer ask John Lopez about it. Everyone i dealt with at Sewell Hummer was fantastic !!!
mine was free at 5k
also got a coupon for first oil change from hummer of TO I also read somewhere about two service options level one and level 2 or a and b one was for trucks offroaded more anyone know price difference and what the different services cover ? thanx
My 5k service was $92.
Good thing I bought the service plan when I purchased my H3! $561 for 50,000 miles! I paid nothing! |
I got the wheel, tire, dent, ding ,glass insurance for mine. $299. It will get used. They said it will cover any offroad wheel ,tire damage!!
So What is this 5k service. What does the Dealer provide? "Yes i too have not looked through my manual" shame shame
i think its an oil change and a pat on the back
Why not take care of the basic service yourself
and or a licensed shop you trust and Forgo some of the cost of dealership..or am i missing something here ![]() |
Hummer of Thousand Oaks, as stated before, provides the 1st oil change for free. But I am thinking of changing it soon myself and putting synthetic in. Any avid synthetic users out there. When should I start using it, immediately or wait for the first oil change to allow proper break-in.? I only have about 600 miles so far. Also, who has the GM number for the Oil filter?
