Guess who made your H3's engine....You don't want to know
f5fstop, don't say nothing yet if you know... |
Izuzu?
|
This should be good.
Why would I not want to know (already know). Is there something wrong with that particular place? I guess to be more technical, what do you mean by "made?" Head, cylinder block, pistons, cams, rods, etc., are made onsite at the assembly plant or they are shipped into the assembly plant from different locations; throughout the world. So, I ask, what is your definition of made? If you mean manufacturing site, which I immediately think of, then that is one of the 50 states. |
It was a surprise to me today... that's all
|
Let me say this:
The engine is manufactured in one of the 50 States (this I can prove in about five minutes); however, it's twin the I-6 is manufactured in this place and in MI. The engine castings are produced by at least two different suppliers, depending on the requirements (sales of the engines). One of these places, also casts Toyota engines that are used in the Lexus as well as some Toyotas. The cylinder heads are not actually casted, since they are manufactured using the lost foam method. I'll be honest, not sure who manufactures the pistons, rods, bearings, camshafts at this time, but easy to look up. The only thing I can think of that would surprise you, or make you post a message than makes it appear it is a place people won't like, is that you learned where some of the engine blocks are casted. Again, if it where I think you think, this place also produces Toyota engine blocks (probably other companies too), and yes, they are the big ocean. |
Was it these guys?

Nope...these guys designed the Aztek. |

I believe there is someone who commonly posts on this site who works there or is very close to there.
|
It's pretty annoying to post a message like "... and you don't want to know". If you are not going to tell us, then what was the point of this message thread?
|
Well, I have been at the Red cross helping all day....
Anyway, GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co..Korean |
Not correct....
For proof, here is a vehicle build sheet for my Hummer. Component Code : 10 - ENGINE ASSEMBLY Source Plant : T - CPC TONAWANDA, NEW YORK Part/Num Broadcast : NJT Traceability : 043350379 Date Scanned : 04/26/2005 Time Scanned : 09.38.00 Scan Station : 01 Please note: Engine Assembly Source Plant....Tonawanda, NY. More proof: 3.5L I-5 Information This is the GM powertrain website, that shows were all the engines are manufactured. Now, I need to ask, which son told you this? The lawyer or the GM executive? Mark (or is it Marc) from GM works either at this plant or nearby. I believe he can verify. |
H3Lady, why do you troll so hard? Do you hate your H3 that much? It seems like you never post happy thoughts about - well anything.
I would only expect to see a thread like this from a pissed off person that really dislikes the Hummer name. |
PS. My kids did not tell me.
Anyway...I was also told the I5 is on the graveyard cut list too.... I wish I did not know this as It makes me upset too. sorry... http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosins...A01-200229.htm |

I don't hate it, look at all the post by others with problems - just look. GM release this vehicle ahead of schedule..I know this for a fact...they are now tightening quality control for it and that is good...real good. My H3 is now waiting for a control module and a new rear end... |
Fair enough.
You just seem very negitive about it. Party on - that is all! |
