I notice that if you open the sunroof, it stops about 2 or 3 inches before its open all the way. I have to let go of the button and hit it again to finish opening. My wife's Escape does the same thing. Anyone know what the purpose of that is?

It doesn't bother me but I'm curious.

I do wish it had one-touch opening though.....

I've been wondering about this myself. Doesn't make sense.

If you push the switch a third time it will move back even more

What's so puzzling? You already know the answer -- NO one-touch -- so GM build in some rest-stops. Here's excerpt from the manual:

1. Using index finger, touch sunroof button

2. Press and HOLD, sunroof will begin to open

3. When rest-stop is reached, lower finger and flex to return circulation

4. Resume pressing and holding button *

5. Repeat until sunroof is in the fully retracted position

6. Congratulations, you have successfully openned your sunroof!

(* Optionally you may want to continue using a different finger or even a different hand. CAUTION: Do not use middle finger if the driver behind you is bigger than you are, or is a cop)

...but one rest stop 95% of the way?

Well the H2 isn't the only car, my volvo does it also. Not sure why however.
