Got a new Tahoe while my truck is being worked on. Will replace the Denali XL with a Burb in the near future and wanted to take a first hand look.

GM has hit a home run. They are a little late with some of the technology but it looks like they paid attention to a lot of the small things. I'm in a SLT and the rear door open/closes with push of the button, it has a remote starter, park assist, stability control, side curtain air bags, push button fold and stow second row seats.

The seats come close to the most comfortable I've sat in and are definitely the most comfortable SUV seats. The controls are all easy to use and the fit and finish in the interior is excellent. It's not clunky like the old stuff was. There is plenty of head and leg room both front and back and the interior is whisper quiet.

It has the displacement on demand and I didn't realize it until I was scrolling through the DIC information and saw it switch between V8 and V4. It was funny to see it say V4 as I was doing 75mph down the interstate. Unlike the way things seem to have been progressing in the past, the engine bay has tons of extra room. There is even an extra spot for a second battery already installed and the stock battery had small posts already added to make it easier to add aftermarket electronics. It had dual-electric fans and another first for me was no radiator cap. Just the cap on the reservoir.

The engine itself looks different, the PS head doesn't extend the length of the block, the intake area looks funny and the cast looking one-piece part that all of the pulleys mount to seems different.

I have just given it a quick glance and will take some pictures tomorrow but I'm digging where GM is going with the SUV/Trucks.

My question is how are the 2007s out? Didnt the 2006 just roll out?

Sounds pretty nice though.

Can't wait 'till they put a boxy body on it and a H2 badge. Sounds like the H2 will get quite an upgrade in many areas when it moves over to the GMT900. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Damn, we should have waited.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>Thank you Phil. You have redeemed my faith.

I told that to everyone I met at the dealership and not one said anything, including 2 Hummer techs. One service advisor even opened the hood of the Tahoe and pointed it out to another service guy, the fact it had no radiator cap.

I couldn't help myself but to see if someone caught it here.

Here are some pics

Paragon, thanks for the pics. The first time i have seen one was on tv a couple of days ago. I have had wood ever since. I hope to buy one when they get up this way. Does it seem to have any nut? Is it still a 6.0?
