It's because you're not washing your hands thoroughly enough after going to those strip clubs. Bad boy.

I have noticed this too! Just thought it was something I had done but it may be a bad finish. If you find out anything from your dealer about the warranty please post. I'm at 29,000 miles so the warranty won't last much longer.

Same thing with mine. I'm taking it in to the dealer in a couple of weeks...we'll see what they say.

Yep. My finish is rubbing off the plastic trim inside both front doors too. Driver's side naturally worse. Bill, let us know what the dealership says.

That should be covered under normal use warranty.
Take the vehicle in and request that they be replaced. If you run into any problems request very very nicely that they put it in writing so you may contact your insurance company. Take a copy of whatever they put in writing and compose your own letter with a nice tone to it.
To not attack any one person in the letter - just attack the quality. cc: GM President and Chief Executive Officer, G. Richard Wagoner, Jr., cc: (YOUR ZONE MANAGER) (FIND THERE NAME OUT). Send only the copy to the dealership manager certified return receipt. If you can put it on your company letter head thats even better. You will have your door handles replaced in a week if you follow these instructions exactly. If it does not work I have a plan "B".

I had both of mine replaced in December......Dealer didn't even question it !

H2 Bill 06-08-2004 06:06 PM

Hey PewterPower, are the new ones doing the same thing?

PewterPower 06-09-2004 01:00 PM

Not yet...it's been 4 months ! (fingers crossed)

If you have a good repore with your
dealer it will be no problem.
all the yearolds that i have seen have wear
mark's.

89vette 06-15-2004 10:10 AM

The finish is wearing off my radio buttons and the dealer told me that wear is not covered under warrenty.
