I need some help from you electronic guys, I installed a pac aai-gm24 to the back of my radio then installed xm satellite gm pt# 12498768 I installed a dvd player and connected it to the pac unit. Here is my problem when I listen to xm raido the factory unit in the back wan't select the dvd player. If I listen to regular radio my kids can listen to the dvd player no problem but when I select xm it will cut the dvd sound off. when listening to the xm you can change from fm 1 fm 2 6disk cd changer am and xm in the back but not the dvd can any one point me in the right direction thanks. I would love to get the answer to this as well. I installed the same unit and the dealer did the install. They indicated that the rear selector did not work for the units pluged into the gm24. I have not even tried. The unit works great other than that.

I will watch for answers.

What you are describing is normal behavior.

Look at it like this - There is really only one "external" input to the stereo from all the add-on devices (XM, External CD Changer, and rear seat DVD). As a matter of fact, all of the outputs of these devices are wired together and tied into the one master input of the head unit (of course all the left channels are tied together, and all the right channels are tied together).

Now that you know how the wiring is setup, you can understand why you cannot listen to XM in the front, and DVD in the back. Both devices would be inputing their audio signal into the head unit at the same time!

In a nutshell, only one "external" device can be used at a time.
