I went down to 25 for our visit to Katemancy Rocks, and it seemed plenty adequate.

On the White Mountain run Steve advised us to air down to 20 psi. It felt good and comfortable, with lots of traction. I climbed 5 hills that day that I would have never attempted in any of my other 4X4 in the past. On the last hill of the day about 1/2 way up, I felt my Hummer start to slip back. I kept my foot on the gas, turned the wheel to the right. The front end slid over about a foot, and garbed on to some hard stuff and we ran non-stop the rest of the way to the top. What Steve tough me that day is to keep a steady foot on the gas, pick a good line, don't be scared of the big hard stuff, thats ware you get your traction and let your Hummer do all the work.

I would air down to 25psi a run at this, adjusting if necessary. Depending on what your tackling I think you will find 25psi will serve most situations. I would be careful going below 20.

25 psi is fine for most situations. I am used to Jeeps where I can air down to 15-10-5 psi all day long, but remember the weight of the Hummer needs to factor in.

Don't go too low or you run the risk of your tire coming off, usually in most unopportune situations.

If you have to, or just want to go lower, invest in a set of beadlocks...

I was at the newsstand during lunch today & saw an article in one of the 4x4 mags testing the "First Street Legal Beadlock Rims".

At cursory glance they looked like they did well.

4 psi here, oh, wait, thats on my toy

I know those tires are heavy (load range d) but they seem to squat decent around 15 psi (of course, heavy rig too)

certified H2 tech.

Offroad I run about 20 and it works great. In sand I start at 20 and then go to 15 if I start having trouble. I follow the manufacturers suggested 37 cold for on road driving. I figure they know what they are talking about

25psi? Is that for gravel parking lots? 25psi barely flexes the tire. I'll take my 37"MTRs down to 16psi without worrying about them. But remember- Be carful when turning at speed( 30mph+) so that you don't roll the tire off the rim. That would be bad.

Just curious, have they been aired down many times, as in broken in?

I don't doubt the 16, just trying to get a feel for what a heavier rig would run.

When we did the tail of the Rubicon with the Norcal Hummer group most of the H2's ran 20 psi as I recalled. I did and I'm running the stock tire/wheel combo.

That's about a perfect combo you've got there.

And the tires don't need to be "broken in" before airing down. I've seen guys air down to 10psi with out problems on heavy rigs.
