Anyone know of any good virtual private server hosting companies?

Ones that will give someone the same basic control as if they were running their on server farm or server and not bog them down on the bandwith or tie their hands in other ways. Multi-domain server hosting is what is being needed.

IXwebhosting.com
as long as it's not Adult material that will be hosted they're one of the best I've found.

Do you have a figure that you are hoping for bandwidth wise or are you looking for unlimited?

None of the hosting companies I use have unlimited but GoDaddy offers virtual dedicated plans starting at 500 gig bandwidth starting at $35/mo and 1k gig bandwidth from $113/mo. I have never used their dedicated plans but have hosted a few clients on their servers and have been fairly happy with them. Might be worth checking out.

Unlimited is usually for those who don't really know how much they need and ironically is better for those who don't need all that much. Would you really want to share with everyone else who "needed" unlimited...?

Missed your post earlier. You are correct there

It is networked off a fiber optic backbone at a central hub here. I cut a deal several years ago with a company that was bought out. The new company doesn't colo so they are not an option or they would just do the same thing I am doing.

My unlimited is just that.... unlimited and is not capped or restricted.

PARAGON 12-01-2005 04:24 PM

I'm just not seeing the value there. It appears the average bandwith is 500GB/mnth and that's a big chunk. I just didn't see where it's better to pay twice as much and get less than half the bandwith.

mstams 12-01-2005 05:41 PM

You're right. If they're pushing that much data through, the cost would be getting up there -- so this plan might not be the right one for you. Without knowing all the details of your situation, I was really just letting you know of a good provider with quality service. Of course, no one solution fits everyone's needs. Good luck!!

We do it. PM if you want hummer pricing....

Dan 12-03-2005 09:25 AM

I use WebHost4Life and have been very happy with them. Unlimited bandwidth & a good price. Check and see if they have anything that suits your needs.
