I just want to show off the latest addition to my H3.

Since I missed the DVD headrest promotion I got jealous of the all the newbies with the cool new gear. So I picked up a new set on ebay for $699 and just got them installed the other day.

Great system, best way to keep the kids entertained and occupied on a long road trip.

They look good .Did you do install them yourself ? If not what were you charged.
I dont have kids but I still want the rear dvd eventually.

What make are the DVD units? Look nice. I missed the offer too and at $699 sounds like a good deal.

DarthKarl 03-16-2006 01:55 PM

I toyed with the idea of doing the install myself, but my dealer said they'd do it for $130 so I went that route.

They're the same system that Hummer was using during their holiday promotion. While the units are branded as GM, its actually made by Invision.

$130 seems fair . not worth it for that price to do it yourself.Did your dealer recomend not using them more than 10 minutes without truck running.Mine told me that after they replaced battery under warranty. They basicly said the GM batterys are crap.I see a optimum gel battery in the future.

Looks good and seems pretty decent on the install cost too!

JWSchmidt3 03-16-2006 05:21 PM

What do they run?? I just missed the promo by a few days, and the dealer wouldn't give me a deal. TIA

GM part number: 19155609 (but there are different numbers based on the headrest type - leather, cloth and trim color). They list for $1995 but gmpartsdirect has them for $1675.

New ones seem to pop up on ebay every now and again.

Re: Showing off my new DVD headrests

They look awesome and at $699 - wow! I thought I did alright at $925. I purchased the same DVD player/setup with cloth headrests. I'm going to have to ask my car audio guy to cut them into my leather headrests. Hoping I don't get killed on the install. No kids yet, but couldn't pass up the further blinging of my H3. How do you like this set? I've seen photos of the Vizualogic - not sure what the difference is... at any rate, I'm very excited to get them installed.

Yea I got a good deal. The guy had them at a buy-it now price of $699...I don't think he knew what they were worth. It was one of the few times I've got a really good bargain on ebay.

They have worked out great so far. Flawless performance and my daughter loves them to boot! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with them too.

Congrats!!!

post some pics of the final install.
