This deserves its own thread. I'm grinning from ear to ear!

That was the greatest college football game I've ever seen. Certainly THE BEST individual performance ever.

Believe the hype, Vince Young is that good!

Austin was nuts last night. I'll post some pics after work.

I don't think there is any question who the Houston Texans will select on draft day.

Vince don't need no stinkin' Heisman.

Hook Em' Horns!

(from the LA Times)

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> "We still think we are a better football team but we just couldn't make the plays," said Matt Leinart.

For once in his brilliant career here, he was wrong.

The Trojans were not the better team here.

Early, they were the more arrogant team. Late, they were the more knock-kneed team. By the time they stumbled off through somebody else's confetti, they were certainly the more exhausted team.

But they were not the better team.

Their defense was beaten into submission in giving up two late scores to the incredible Young, whose 467 total yards would give him the Heisman over USC's Reggie Bush in a recall election.

Heisman who?

First, this year's pulls a lame ass move and tries to pitch the ball as he is being tackled. Heisman, my ass.

Then Liarhart can't be a man and has to punk out even slipping up and saying it was a great win, not almost, he said it.

At least Carroll was gracious in the loss.

I think the University of Texas Fight Song says it all:

[Sung to "I've been working on the railroad."]

"The Eyes of Texas"

The eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live long day.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night, or early in the morn.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
'Till Gabriel blows his horn!

The reference to "Gabriel" is a violation of the separation of Church and state and needs to be removed.
Good Luck with that one in Texas.

As great as Young is, the Texas defense was the fastest Leinart, Bush, and USC ever faced. Offense wins games; defense wins championships. Texas had both and is the undisputed National Champion.

Congrats to a great team that won a great game.

This is fun!

And Young will get drafted by the Texans and get owned every Sunday because of a crappy O-line and MUCH higher caliber defensive players.

But it was a great game. I still can't believe that Reggie Bush wasn't in on every play to keep the Horns' defense guessing.

You just knew that was coming. Think it would be excusable to shoot anyone you hear saying that?
