I've been reading all the vandalism topics in the H2 area. I'm just curious if this is also a problem for the H3s?

I would have no idea why, cause the gas mileage is pretty good, but those crazies don't think too much. Plus I've been told I have a nice H2. :P

I'm in the process of planning my alarm system, and happened to come across those topics so I'm trying to see what I should all consider. Thanks

i think us 3ers are getting off easy when you hear of the things done to 1&2's , there have been a couple of keyings but thats it . met a h2er this weekend who is in bay area and he has horror stories . people standing in front of him yelling crap and not letting him leave, etc. etc. he said it was mostly women too .

I have had one issue at the grocery store with someone coming up to me ranting and raving about the environment, then I said (literally) "Hey ****head, how about that 1995 piece of **** escort you're rolling in, I guarantee you I get better Gas mileage than you" Then I got out the car (I'm 6'0, 280lbs) and the guy looked me over and quietly went about his business.

Ok, that's good to hear, that the h3s are left alone for the most part.

I think I may have an unhealthy love for my vehicles, and zero tolerance for people who mess with other peoples cars.

I suppose I can do without the system to start my car, rev the engine, and start a smog machine when someone touches the truck if the tree hugers aren't hating on the h3s as much as the h2s. Still will probably need to keep the 30,000 volt shock system though, just in case. :P

Thanks for the replies, puts my mind at ease a bit knowing we aren't as hated as the h2s.

I live in the area of MI where all are either GM or Chrysler employees. This is like H2/H3 heaven, and just as many of those large (ugly) Commanders and good looking Power Wagons; so, ecoterrorists don't come into this neighborhood too often.
I did have a slight encounter with a Honda Insight owner in IN on my way to TN one day. But she has most likly stopped harrassing dirty old men who really do not care what they say in public.
PS It's not only the wild west where people carry things that go bang under their coats.

Found this in a local comics section. I thought it was funny.

Here is a picture for those commie eco-terrorists- you should have heard that poor defenseless tree scream as I plowed over it!

H3's are well liked here in Silicon Valley. People have stopped me in parking lots and response has been favorable. Mostly they ask about the price and gas mileage.

I get the occasional double take and a couple have people have asked to sit in at the gas station. I did have a run in with the what I think was a tree-hugger drive by shooting. They nailed my H3 with a (as in ONE)thank god, yellow paintball,It exploded on the rubber seal for the driverside window, it made a dimple in the rubber, thank god again no body damage. They paint got into the window sill and even after so many washes I still get some yellow goo on the window as it goes up. Sometimes I find that people have massed with the mirrors, pushing them in or out. I live in the city but in a very liberal neighborhood. I do see other VERY LARGE SUV's around with bumper stickers "I am changing the climate," I guess even the H3 cannot escape the stigma of its big brother, if you are an ignorant tree-hugging fairy.

I can't beleave how wrapped up and uptight some people get over what you drive.

DarthKarl 01-23-2006 07:22 PM

These people are typical “thought nazis.” They believe their particular sensibilities are the measuring stick by which everyone should conform. Each are endlessly offended when someone doesn’t march in step with them. They feel they have a duty to dictate their lowest common denominator morals to everyone else. (Hey walc, I think you fit in here)

Some hate SUVs, others tobacco, guns, fast food...you name it and you can find a bunch of these jerks on a crusade against people who think otherwise.

I remember back in the summer I was driving home from work on the hiway and it was bumper to bumper. This little Honda Insight pulls up beside me and the family(5 people), all quite large(read heavy) looks over at me in disgust. I had my windows down and sunroof open enjoying the weather and they were all crammed inside with the windows up and the air on. I just started laughing uncontrolably and couldn't stop. They all gave me dirty looks every time they got beside me. But they never said a word to me.
