I was wondering what you guys use to get rid of the plastic on plastic rubbing noises in your rig. I tried massive amounts of Armor All, but it tends to wear out pretty quick.

Mine drive me crazy. They're all over the place -- dash, door panels, and center console. I've tried silicone spray as others have suggested, but so far nothing has worked. I've just learned to live with it, but it's the thing I hate most about my truck!!

Yea they're pretty much everywhere. Interior noises don't bother me as much as the wind noises at highway speeds, though.

I have heard so much about this...yet have not had it happen to me. I have heard people use baby powder on wood floors - not sure if I would try it on your truck though...imagine a boarder crossing after doing that!

Pretty funny there VT ...
![]() Where in the center console is the noise coming from? Can you press any particular place and stop the noise? Perhaps the shifter or the housing around it? |
Baby powder? I'll use that on my balls...but not my truck.

I was also thinking about ordering the locks on the door and somehow jerry rig it and make that consol lockable, as well as on the glove compartment. Did a search on the forums but couldn't find any info. |
Not sure what to make of that but since some of us don't have the problem then it is possible with the same parts to not have the squeaking. Brilliant, eh?
![]() Seriously, maybe there's a loose clip/screw/bolt somewhere in your console's mounting? You might find some ideas here. |
