So I pulled my keys out of my pocket the other day and the remote had broken off my key ring. (damn!) I was able to buy a replacement remote from one of my vendors but it has no on board programming instructions. I tried the method for programming H2 remotes as well as some of the other GM truck methods with no success. I called the service department at my dealership and they told me that the H3 can't be programmed without hooking it up to their computer but I don't buy that. Any help would be appreciated. I can just go to the dealer and have it sorted out but I'd rather not. HoKc? Hummerguy? Any thoughts?

No good news here, my service guys are telling me that you have to hook up the Tech 2 to the system to reprogram the remotes. Apparently it is something that GM is going to across the board, some security & safety issue or something. Most Dealerships should do it for free. It only takes a couple of minutes.
