Anyone know where I can get a set of Toyo MTs around Denver? Also, what is the ballpark price per tire?

Discount Tire sells them. I dont know if they the type you are looking for and especially the size, but give them a call.
|
Thanks, I will check with them.
Does anyone have a typical price for 35x12.50x17 and for the 37x13.50x17? |
Check for a dealer on Toyo's website....
Here's a link to the dealer search... http://www.toyo.com/find_a_dealer/ |

I saved $90 per tire by having a price in mind when I contacted Discount Tire. They matched the best price I found on the web. Retail price (not to be confused with the price you'll pay) on the 37s is around $439. |

Retail price (not to be confused with the price you'll pay) on the 37s is around $439.[/quote] Does that only qualify if they have that tire in stock? Or do they do a substitute, say they have BFG MTs but I want TRXUS MTs. |

The Discount Tire salesman here didn't have the tires in stock and wasn't able to find them at first. He had to dig and finally found them out of state and had them shipped in. Not sure about this but I get the impression that price matching and filling orders as requested aren't necessarily policies but rather, facts of life if they want to sell tires. Between storefronts and internet dealers the consumer is in the driver's seat. |

So you paid around $350 per tire for 37s? |

I was quoted at our local les schwab for a set of four tires mounted etc...for $1300 give or take... Those were Toyo Open country M/t's 35/12.5/17...
|
And to think they come off the boat at the dock for around $25-30 a piece. The Dist then sells to the dealer for $150-$200ea. Then we buy them for retail. OUCH!

Now, those prices are better.
One word of caution though. I'm not saying this is all tires, but on stock rims, a 37 X 13.50 wide tire and the air susp. is not a good combo. Once aired down, you can flax into that little arm back there and you're done! On a non-stock rim that is set out a little further will be fine though. This is something the dealer told me back when I had my 03. I don't have air susp. on the 05 becasue of that DAMN 03 ![]() I really really really really like that setup Rod. |
I was leaning toward the 35's anyway. With those the truck with crossbars will still fit in a 84" garage right??
