While military Humvees have a snorkel kit extending the exhaust and air intake to roof level, making it possible to operate in 60 inches of water, Civilian Hummers cannot use the snorkel kit because the dash, fuses, alternator, power steering cap, transmission controller, radio, and engine controller are not waterproof.

I've seen snorkel kits on jeeps,
how does that work? ![]() |

..and close the passenger side intake..
but the problem is to mantain the same size of the tube of intake without pressure problem (I hope you understand). |
And goes out with a snorkel safari as Range Rover or a tube as H1 ?

I wouldn't even consider adding a snorkel unless it was absolutely necessary. It would affect you overall performance, and would give yourself a false sense of waterproofness(Is that a word?). Unless you would go through the pains of waterproofing all of your electrical components, and extended all of the breather lines above snorkel height, I wouldn't do it.
As far as performance, think of it this way, would you run a marathon breathing through a straw? That's about what you would be doing to your engine! So, think before you leap on this one! IMO Ric-H0 |
