Yes!! Go buy a bottle of 3M Vinyl Cleaner and Restorer ($7.97 at Walmart). It is great for restoring the luster to all your black plastic trim and it removes the white haze left from waxing. Also if you wipe it down with a clean dry rag after applying it won't run onto your paint when it rains or when you wash the truck. It also lasts through several rains and washings. This stuff is great!! Follow this link to see what it looks like, http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motor...aviclandr.html

Mineral Oil works well too.

Thats for greasing up the ugly chicks in Corpus...not for cleaning your rig

There's other suggestions here:
http://elcova.com/groupee/forums?a=search&reqWords=wax+on+plastic I hate getting that stuff on the plastic so I take it to the dealer and let them do it. ![]() |
Thanks for the help guys; much appreciated. KenP, thanks for the link, I didn't think to do a search, didn't think it was a common problem.

Peanut oil works great. Crazy as it sounds, you can actually apply smooth peanut butter to the plastic and then wipe it off and you will see that the plastic will have that orginal look.

I use warm water and a toothbrust, the toothbrush works great
