I was looking for blackening for a stainless antenna and found this site. They have powder coating, high temp sprays, cold anodizing, plastic coating and much more. Chrome, but best of all everything is available in Black ( and grey for the pewter match)
And yes, they have cold Stainless Steel blackening.

Go with the anodizing for that application.
I'm going to have my lugs anodized. The paint is chipping off.
