Are there 2 different style mirror caps for the '06? It seems that is one style for the base and adventure and another for the Lux or am I wrong.

I thought they were all the same new style mirror with the chrome painted plastic insert in the middle of the mirror. I looked at an adverture and Lux 06 while waiting on the H3 last Friday and they were all the same.

I just got the new '06 mirrors last week. My caps have been painted and are curing right now. Can't support the chrome lifestyle.

How do I remove chrome insert on 06 mirrors. I need to have it painted or powdercoated. Should I let a body shop try to remove, dealership, or should I remove. What type of covering will look and hold up the best?. Thanks

I have an appoinment on Tuesday to have my new mirrors installed.

After the general trashing the 06 mirrors get here when they first appeared (I was one of the VERY FEW who likes 'em!), I find it emberassing how many of you are now rushing to get your old mirrors replaced with the new style

You have to pop out the mirror first. Carefully grab the mirror face(glass) and give it a uniform & firm tug. Both mirrors are connected by wires(for the defrost) so leave them attached and let them hang. Behind the mirror you'll find 4 torques screws. Remove them and the mirror splits in half. The offensive chrome insert can then be removed from the inside of the front half.

I think all 06 come with the bling mirrors. I ordered mine: SUT adventure body colored grille, black everything, but much to my dismay, they had the chrome bling on the mirrors! I thought I had oreded a unbling hummer but NO!

I am wondering because mine vibrate at 55+ speeds. Driver side more than pass.
