6.8L Triton, V10 & 6.0L Power Stroke, V8 Turbo Diesel?
I think it's more of a modified Excursion than anything else. The sheet metal is barely different from the original Ford.

Looks like a vehicle for Supermans rival Dimento!(sp?)

Kinda like a brinks truck limo.
Lots of sharp angles to screw up on the hunting trails, or trips to the mall!

I thought they gave up on that vehicle after GM sued them.

Here is the original design that triggered the suit:

So did I Dan. I guess Avanti made enough changes to satisfy whatever requirements were set by the courts after their lose.

I think this incarnation is uglier than the first version.

http://www.theavanti.com/XUV.html
The XUV, offered with a five-speed transmission, measures 83 inches wide, 85.5 inches tall and 216 inches long, with a 137-inch wheelbase and a curb weight of 5,900 lbs. Buyers may choose either a 325-horsepower, 6.0-liter turbo-diesel V8 or a 310-hp, 6.8-liter V10 which may be equipped with an optional supercharger, raising the engine rating to 425 hp. Standard features include tow hooks, cab lights, roof cargo tie-downs, an in-dash CD changer and a stainless steel exhaust system—as well as a sliding rear roof and doors and power-sliding side doors. Among the many available options are a GPS navigation system, a DVD player and TV, moonroof, brush guard, roof rack, heated seats, step bars, a winch mounted on the front bumper and a rear center-mounted TV camera for better safety when backing up.

Part of the settlement was that Avanti had to change their design, I believe.

Couldn't copy the H2 legally, so they copied the Excursion instead. My guess is they hire all the reject engineers over there. Not a single original thought among them.

It reminds me of that AMC car/4x4 of the 80's....anyone remember that thing?

RAM H2 RYDER 04-11-2005 08:10 PM

I heard ford discontinued the Excursion, maybe they bought the rights to that ugly thing. It's always funny to me how people flip me off in the H2, but when an excursion passes by they have no problem with that.

KenP 04-11-2005 09:33 PM

The few dealers they have signed up are really cheesy. Did anyone else check them out?
