I think you are talking about the chrome fuel door and it doesn't lock.

The current ring has about 5 - 7 connectors that just pop in so you have to pop them out. So you can pry underneath the plastic all around and eventually it will come lose all around. Or you can also take off the wheel well cover and push from the backside. Popping out from behind. Actually is pretty easy, scary to pry but easy.

I just put the chrome gas cap on mine. THe original bezel (ring) just pops off. The instructions tell you to use something like a plastic putty knife to pry between the ring and the paint. I was able to get underneath it with my fingers and pull. It comes right out.

cool. I didn't wanted to follow directions and use a putty knife. To wide it could scrape.

You can purchase either chrome or black locking fuel doors for your H3. Here is a link to one site that sells them.
