I recent installed a Predator chrome rear tire carrier on my H2. It hasn't been 30 days and I already have rust in spots. What can be done to clean up the rust and prevent it from returning without damaging the chrome finish?

I recent installed a Predator chrome rear tire carrier on my H2. It hasn't been 30 days and I already have rust in spots. What can be done to clean up the rust and prevent it from returning without damaging the chrome finish?

I think tower had one with that issue... replaced it with a new one I think....
