Anyone know a reset for the Passlock light. I was installing my heated wiper blades today and now the passlocl ligh stays on. I suspect it is because I kept turning on and off the ignition and possibly turned it on once while I had a module unplugged. Anyone know of a reset with out a GM service tool and a trip to the dealer?
Thanks RI |

According to the manual if the passlock light stays on you have no passlock protection and the system has to be serviced. However, a blown passlock fuse will cause the light to remain on so I'd start there and check the fuse. If that doesn't work, try the "other" key. As a last resort, try disconnecting battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect. Maybe it will reset. Just some ideas. Hope you don't have to make a trip to the dealer.

RI Hummer... some other thoughts. I assume your H2 will start & run. This again means that the passlock system is not activated (doing its job). The system is powered up all the time. This would indicate a loss of power to the system. Again, check fuses, etc. If you were disconnecting/connecting various wires/grounds during your wiper installation retrace your steps to be certain you didn't leave a wire disconnected. One other last resort if you have Onstar you might see if they can run diagnostics that might help you. Hope this helps with some ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions, disconnecting the battery cleared the problem.
Heated wipers are AWESOME! No more pile of ice at the center of the windshield. Thanks, RI |
