There is a wiring harness that connects the compressor to the body of the truck. It is a wide amp style connector. Check the wires on both sides of that.... From what I understand that screw sets the mesh on the gears in the box and if it is overtightened it can destroy your box. I took a 3" air cut off and cut two relief grooves in it almost to the shaft it can off nice and easy.
