Go to pirate4x4.com and read all about that company. They have a horrible reputation. I personally will never buy from them again. Frankly I'm surprised you got them so quickly.

You should have it in 3rd at all times when towing. 4th or "D" is basically our overdrive gear. I keep mine in 3rd even when pulling my trailer empty (1,500 lbs). There's less than a 2,000 rpm...

I towed my Suzuki Samurai from Nor Cal to Moab and back, 1,800 miles round trip with no problems and got 12 mpg to boot. The Sammy and trailer weigh 4,400 lbs. Once you're rolling it pulls great.:D
