Re: H3T Advertising Campaign

Good to see them do an agressive H3T launch. I think the H3T could have broader appeal due to its practicality.

Re: Saw H3T yesterday, your thoughts?

Car sales are down, and I had the same experience at the Thousand Oaks dealership when I stopped by after work. It was deserted.

Re: wires chewed by rodents

Isn't this covered by your insurance? I would install a new harness.

Re: H4. Great! But Don't Give Me an Automatic!

In Europe, manuals account for 85% of new vehicle sales, and it is projected that percentage will remain at that level for many years into the future. I think it's a bit premature to declare the...

Re: H4. Great! But Don't Give Me an Automatic!

If anything, they should drop the slushbox, and make it manual only. Let the girly men drivers go get a RAV 4 if they don't know how to shift.:perfect10s:

Re: Is the LR3 a Serious Off-Road Competitor?

Darn! And it was just starting to get good, too.

H4. Great! But Don't Give Me an Automatic!

The H4 concept looks great, but don't give me no stinkin' automatic, no matter how many gears it has. I want a 6-speed manual with good synchros, and a nice smooth clutch, just like the Europeans...

Re: GM To Sell Hummer Brand

I recently heard Hummer sold more vehicles worldwide this year than last year. If sales are up, why sell, unless GM needs the capital to stay afloat?

I"m getting skeptical that they will actually...

Re: Ran into another H3 with my problem yesterday ...

I don't know why you say that. Corvettes have had warped rotor problems for years, and that car has huge rotors, and 3/5 the mass of the H3 to stop. Mine warped in one good hard stop on the freeway...

Re: hummer hate

Call me paranoid, but whenever I park any nice car, I will double back just to make sure there is no suspicious activity. I figure most people with bad intent will strike just after you leave,...

Re: Organized Hummer Hate

Well, you can do what I did. I went to their contact page, and pointed out that they obviously did not do their homework, and that the H3 gets better mileage than every other 4x4 off-road truck...

Re: Gas Hog!?!

Actually, I was reading in the Wall Street Journal that they are starting a new ad campaign for the H3 touting the mileage. About time! The manual trans H3 has higher mileage ratings than any...

Re: To Much Rust under new H3?

You mean like a Vega front fender? :D

I believe you are referring to aluminum, which forms a conversion coating, not the steel undercarriage.

Re: Okay ... I'm calling GM now.

A few things come to mind here. If it was a brake problem, the noise should change when brakes are applied versus released.

Does the sound change when making turns? If so you can narrow it down to...

Re: Difference between 4High and 4High Lock

Technically, there is no torque split when locked, because it is no longer a differential. For example, if the front encounters a slippery surface, torque will be transmitted to the rear up to 100%,...

Re: Transmission Slips?

I think this sounds very good. Just be sure to get everything in writing, and see what the deductible on the warrantee is, and who is the underwriter.

Enjoy the truck!

Re: Whats the deal with speed?

I think they should have put the V8 in from the start along with 6-speed manual and auto boxes. Americans are great with V8s, and they should stick with what they are good at. My Corvettes and...

Re: H3 VS new Rubicon Wrangler......

I test drove the '06 Wrangler Unlimited, and all I can say is, that was pehaps the worst riding vehicle I have ever ridden in. It shook so hard, it was hard to see. The new '07s are suppose to ride...

That must be a technical term.
:D

Message to GM - "paint your damn undercarriages for gosh sakes". This isn't 1962.

Re: H3 w/ V8 in near future?

So IF GM were to use a different transmission, IF they were putting in a 5.3L V8, would they bump up the transmission from 4- to 6-speeds to improve fuel economy?

That's also normal.

GM uses the cheapest seals they can buy. Always have.
