Re: Original Owners ?

My wife still has her 06 adventure package. Bought it new in 07, just before the 07s came out. I don't know how many miles we have on it now. I think it's in the neighborhood of 180k. She still loves...

Re: Knock sensor help

Seeing as how many first responders in NYC are suffering the ill effects of toxic gases and who knows what all else, at TWC , after 9/11, I find your "poking fun" at my "job title" tasteless. It's...

Re: Knock sensor help

I meant that I was in the wrong forum, when I answered. Nice amount of respect there, that you have for the people who make it their duty to serve the public. Do you go around kicking wounded...

Re: Knock sensor help

Wrong forum.. LOL

The knock sensor adjusts the timing when detonation occurs etc. So it constantly monitors the timing, and adjusts as needed. I have no idea of it's location on the H3's 5 cylinder....

Re: Rear Axle Light Flashing

By the way, where was the light that was flashing, located? Was it flashing an icon in the instrument panel, or on a button, such as the ones on the transfer case selection switches?

Re: Rear Axle Light Flashing

I can't think of any reason it would do that. You can only engage the rear locker when in low 4wd lock. Even then, the rear locker will disengage above 20 mph. It won't engage on it's own, under...

Re: WANTED: Factory tow hooks/mounts

Shippings not too bad. I had the 3 I bought shipped from OK. So this would be the two front mounts then (not 3)?

WANTED: Factory tow hooks/mounts

Anyone have a set of them alying around? I'm just looking for a set of the factory black ones, for my trail rig ... nothing blingy. One is ok, (that's all I need, I have already bought a set of 3...

Re: Hello H3ers

Welcome, from another SATX H3. Just what are you going to do when you catch a tornado, .. and more impotantly, where are you going to keep it?

Re: Hummer Wheeling

The ranch is primarly used for hunting, and also doubles as a "get-a-way" where you can rent rooms at the lodge. It's between Tarpley and Utopia close to Bandera, TX, in the hill country. It's a...

Re: Hummer Wheeling

It was a dealer event. I guess they've been going to this ranch for the last two years. It seemed to be geared towards folks who never have been wheeling, but it was still fun enough for those of us...

Re: Do bigger tires = Stiffer ride?

In a nutshell, if the rim size stays that same, then often a larger tire will ride a bit softer due to the increased area of the sidewall, which will allow a bit more flex, which translates into a...

Re: Pic of rev limiter gremlin...

GM sets all the trucks speed limiters at 100 mph (or there about). My 97 K1500 is that way, my wifes 01 4wd tahoe was that way, and like the picture shows, it would appear that the H3 is that way......

Re: alignment under warranty

I takes a bit of miles for noticable tire wear to show up. I would have argued that at 15,000 it's more than likely the alignment was out of whack when you got the H3. But, that of course depends on...

Re: Have no tint on windshield?

Mine has the "eyebrow" at the top from the factory. I had the 2 front doors tinted on my own for 35.00 from some guy that came to my fire station to do it.

Re: water leak

I've never had the rails off to see exactly how they mount. But, I woul dventure to guess that you are right in suspecting that they were not installed correctly if they were replaced before.

I'd...

Re: OEM Navi Bypass

I have not seen anything. I know it's a pain, the way it's set up, but I also know theres a reason it's done that way.

I've just learned to set it before I go, sometimes even if I don't think I'll...

Re: How to remove dealership info from tire cover?

One option if anyone repaints is to use "trim paint". I picked up a can at O'Reily's and used it on my trucks fender flares. They turned out great. They have just the right look, with a not too...

Re: Dealer adjusted front torsion so that the vehicle is balanced

Sorry, but I totally disagree with this.

It's not the same as putting a block between the axle and spring pack. Putting a block in between those 2 does not effect the springs rate, (like t-bar...

Re: 32 or 33 Inch Tire/Rim

I bought one of the black plastic "dealership" style ones on ebay for not too much. The guy I used had one of those "make an offer" deals. It really depends on the style your looking for.
