Its all about gears,weight, and traction. The Hummer could have had a 10 hp briggs and stratton and if the gears were right still beat the ford. It also would have a 5 mph top speed but thats not...

Six inches of lift, and even then you might get slight rubbing in extreme situations. If you do a search for tires you will get loads of information.
