Re: Anyone done the diesel conversion?

Predator does a lot of conversions. They've even got a contract with the government to upgrade the border patrol H1's to Duramax engines from the 6.5 so they have a high turnover rate and lots of...

Re: My freakin' truck still hasn't shipped...

That's normal in vehicle transport, no one is going to ship a bunch of cars until the truck is fully loaded. Unless you reserve the load and pay for an empty trailer to go out there, you'll have to...

Re: Anyone know of a inspection company in San Diego/S. Cali?

Predator Motorsports is in Vista, CA, they may inspect it for a fee I imagine, if they're not too busy.

If you want to drive a bit further, get Mike to look at it at Tustin Hummer in Orange county.

Re: Is 36500 a good price for 1999 wagon??

Interior and body is only part of the whole package.

I'd have a paid inspection at a good H1 dealer, do not rush to buy your first truck, the price they are asking is very very average, there are...

Re: 2 years till we see anything new from Hummer

Lynch is selling everything at the big site and moving back to his original warehouse from the 90's. His original H1 showroom/shop was about $7000 a month to lease.

The new super showroom ran him...

Re: Proper Tire Inflation?

An heavy H1 at or near GVW [heavy wagon loaded up or armored HMMWV] has the recommend PSI at 35 psi front 40 rear. If you are empty or driving a lighter model [ie. a soft top or have a stripped down...

Re: H1s going like hotcakes

According to Lynch, A gentleman in Montana brought five Alphas in one afternoon.

I've seen lynch down to only 3 or 4 H1's in stock before years ago at least for used trucks.

He also posted that...

Re: Old man vandalizes H2 in Dallas & makes the news

Actually the police report is out now. He has admitted to keying the H2 along with 4 or 5 others, and stated he's a member of the sierra club and greenpeace.

Now its all clear.

:lame:

At least he...

Re: Old man vandalizes H2 in Dallas & makes the news

I think it has more to do that the H2 is parked in a Handicap spot [blue paint on asphalt] rather then the make/model of the vehicle being keyed. You don't see it on the photo, but you do see it in...

Re: Stopped by to say good bye.....

Fuel prices will go in cycles. Theres plenty of oil out there, the oil companies don't wish to cut their own hands off by adding more capacity to lower prices, so they'll tow the "peak oil" line by...

Re: Looking for H1 Alphas in canada

Hummer dealers in Canada are pretty much useless for H1 stock. Your best bet is to import from the US, Canadian dealers usually overprice them much higher then in the US Market.

You can import with...

Re: 2006 alpha

Put it up on ebay starting bid of $100,000, buy it now of $120,000, wire in account only, and place lots of pictures online and you should sell it relatively quickly.

A friend sold an Alpha soft top...

Re: 1997.5 H1

The #8 wouldn't scare me at that price. I could get a new engine replaced for about 7-8 grand, so to spend another 20k to dodge the #8 doesn't seem worth it if everything else is in good shape.

I...

Re: What does everything think about the gas/h20 mix for big fuel efficiency..?

HHO water systems are a scam and are geared towards people who fell asleep during Physics classes.

Note I'm not talking about hydrogen fuel cells or water injection here but people that are trying...

Re: 1996 for sale - a good deal

Older hummers you have 2 issues. HVAC upgrades and engine upgrades on 96-01 turbo diesels.

Since this 96 is high mileage, you are probably safe from the #8 cracked block which tends to happen within...

Re: Heater Core (Oh Sh^t)

Ugh. I hate the 5 password entry system here... anywho..

Re: alpha cruising speed??

2006 Duramax Alpha is a hot rod, you can do 70-80 mph all the live long day, just make sure you service your driveline.

When we go out in big groups we tell the Alpha owners to keep it to 65 so us...

Re: Next Generation H2 Cancelled: Four Wheeler Magazine

They didn't really rise that much, it kinda locked in the depreciation. If you brought a 1992 H1 at $40,000 it would be still worth 20-25,000$ if it was in ok shape today, and thats not bad for a 16...

Re: Next Generation H2 Cancelled: Four Wheeler Magazine

I'll guess we'll find out soon at Hummer homecoming 2009. H2 being discontinued makes sense if the "other" big rumor is true.

No Hummer isn't going anywhere, AM General and GM just extended the...

Re: Picking up a nice used H1 2001 36,000

If its a high mileage Z block you're likely to be ok. The #8 failure rate is about 25% I heard from an off the record source, most in the first 30,000 miles.

The rest is non issues [Recessed lights?...
