Re: normal oil pressure indicator position

Mine runs at about 1/4 when at idle and 1/2 when on the road.

Re: I have Question about Hummer H1 1994 open top.

Off the top of my head with little to base this on...I'd guess somewhere around $20,000-$25,000 depending on condition.

Re: valve cover gaskets

Phazer42, I'm taking next week off and plan on working on the truck most of that time. I can take care of the repairs myself but if you want to come down and play on a weekday send me an email at...

Re: valve cover gaskets

By resperator do you mean the CDR valve? I checked the vacuum a few months ago using a gauge connected to the dipstick tube...0 at idle 3-5 at ~50mph depending on rpm . I thought that...

Re: valve cover gaskets

So you're saying disconnet the lines at the injector side and carefully bend them up? That had crossed my mind. Did you use a tubing bender or any other method to avoid kinking the lines?

valve cover gaskets

I have a '94 with a 6.5NA that's leaking oil badly from the valve cover gaskets. At first it was a mild annoyance but it seems to have gotten worse. In order to change the gaskets it looks like...

Re: Battery? H1?

It sounds like the starter solenoid. If you're lucky the starter just isn't getting enough juice to turn over. I would first check and clean all connections. Trace the + cable from the battery all...

WANTED: '94 Door panels

I'm looking for interior door panels that will fit a 1994 4-door hard top. Contidion and color don't matter as long as they are in one piece and cheap.

Re: Duramax inquiry

I like everything banks.

Also look into injecting propane. It'll get you more power and mileage but the cost of propane will offset savings in diesel so you'll spend the same or more on fuel if...

Re: Driving Questions......

Besides the lack of a roof, I don't think there is a big differance between hard and soft top. I would think you'd be okay pulling a goose neck with an open top but I've actually never seen an open...

Re: New HummVee Prototype

I saw one of these wrecked on the highway yesterday. For those of you around Detroit, it appeared to tumble off of the I-96 split onto I-275. I wish I had a camera. Considering the wreck it...

Re: Driving Questions......

I don't know personally about pulling a goose neck but I have seen it done with a 4 door hard top.

I have a '94 4 door hard top and the road noise was almost unbearable at first (I actually wore...

Re: Sub boxes / Stereo setup

The space under the front seats depends on where you are looking. There is less than half an inch between the floor and the seat frame which, on mine, is a box full of all the adjustment...

Re: Sub boxes / Stereo setup

I've got a 94 that I think is pretty similar to the 95. Depending on the shape you can fit quite a lot of stuff under the rear seats. I have an amp and a changer under one back seat but the sub I...

Question Re: H1 in various seasons

I've tried cycling my plugs a few times before and never had much luck. The second/third times they only stay on for a fraction of a second and starting is no different. All plugs and the...

Re: 95' TECH/REPAIR MANUAL

I got a wonderful 2 volume manual on ebay for about $60. Best manual I've ever seen and it sure beat the hundreds they go for normally:clapping:. It took a couple of weeks of watching, but they pop...

Re: H1 in various seasons

I don't want to contradict what everyone is saying but my '94 is a real pain to start below ~40 degrees. I've been tweaking a few things and its getting better but I'm still hesitant to go anywhere...

Any suggestions on the additive to use? I've been using Diesel 911 for a couple of years and it seems okay. Always looking for something better though.:dancingbanana:

Whats this sound?

Well it looks like they won't let me attach a wave file so I'll try to describe it.

A fraction of a second before I start the engine and for a second after I shut it off (only when still cold) there...

Re: Tough Cold Starting

I think the controller is working okay. The light comes on for probably about 15-25 seconds. I have had other problems with the controller that may be related. It burnt up twice in the last year. ...
