Re: LOLZ!!! H1 Needs Strap for Escalator!!!

Yes, that was my try at the Escalator. I didn't have an experienced Escalator spotter so I had to wing it. I went way way right (past the black marks on the wall) and went on my side for just a sec...

Re: GM ready to do the unthinkable

Nope, they technichally only have to continue making safety and emission related equipment for the duration of the factory and emissions warranty. Fortunately, the drivetrain is platform common....

Re: GM in deep Doo-Doo

I will not dispute that GM, along with every other multi-line franchise i.e Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, etc, utilizes platforms. They will vary the design to appeal to as many potential customers as...

Re: GM in deep Doo-Doo

I call BS, since the H2 was an AMGeneral/GM cooperative venture. I highly doubt you even know a "GM Engineer" that would have been on that project.

Re: Broken steering something?!?

Wouldn't be the first steering gear I've seen to shear the pitman gear on an H1.

Re: Broken steering something?!?

Probably the bolts to the steering gear broke. Three bolts go through the frame on the driver side, also check the pitman arm on the gear, and the idler arm on the right frame rail.

Re: 1996 for sale - a good deal

It looks okay, but the wheels are crap aftermarket. I would take the time to inspect for coolant leaks, oil leaks, and of course corrosion. Most expensive chronic issue with 1996 is the HVAC system,...

Re: Water Injection Installed

I think if you mix in some Red Bull with that water it will give you the boost in power you are looking for. :lame:

BTW, Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source for information, it is only as accurate...

Re: Door Lock Cylinder

The cylinder decoded would only give the last 5 codes of a 10 cut keycode. The first 9 are used for the ignition. Unfortunately, whoever stole the cylinder can get a door/glovebox key cut at any...

Re: Speedometer Needle Stuck

Every GM dealership knows about this condition. Just take it in and tell them the speedo needle is sticking and depending on what your mileage is, it will be some sort of warranty coverage. It could...

Re: What does everything think about the gas/h20 mix for big fuel efficiency..?

Unless results are documented in a controlled closed enviroment, any claim to "positive" results are subjective. More like superfluous hyperbole. The simple rule in both chemistry and physics is you...

Re: H1 hood scoop

That scoop is all show, no benefit. It would actually impede cooling, look at the grating. The engine area on a h1 is so tight when the hood is closed you would need a means to allow air flow out of...

Re: What does everything think about the gas/h20 mix for big fuel efficiency..?

This such a crock of psuedo-science and junk documentation. Hydrogen by itself has virtually no power output when burned. It is also a ganged element, meaning that in natural form, 2 atoms are...

Re: I want to so bad...

:iagree:

A dog can chase anything it likes in its own domain, outside of that it is the owners fault. The idiot dog owner obviously didn't know that his dogs were performing pack manuevers....

Re: Speedometer Needle Stuck

I disagree, I have personally have had 2 H2's done under GM's Special policy at my dealership. It covers all GMT800 platforms. They (being GM) know they have an issue with clusters from 2001-2006.

Re: Speedometer Needle Stuck

There is a special policy adjustment for this issue, take it to a Chev/GMC dealer and it should be covered under warranty, Hummer dealers I can't speak for. They can pre-order a cluster after they...

Re: Spillage

Simply, a 5lb bag/bottle of oil absorbent, a heavy plastic bag to scoop contaminated soil into, and something to scoop it with, is sufficient.

Just that you would ask gives kudos to you. Thanks!

Re: Picking up a nice used H1 2001 36,000

Hmm, I have 100k with the "Z" VIN code. No issues.

I would not tow with the H1 unless it was flat, since its GVW is 10,300 and my wagon is a tick under 8k already. The brakes are not really meant...

Re: Centramatic Tire Balancers

You just went wheelin', my guess is you lost a couple wheel weights (its happened to me). Have your tires balanced.

The Alpha has everything that owners of earlier models wish they had. Powerful...

Re: Centramatic Tire Balancers

You don't need them, they are for the steel wheels. The aluminum wheels don't have an issue with balancing.
