Re: New engines

The engine with proper service can go a very, very long time.

Call it about 300k in a TD. The NA engine (non-turbo variant) can go longer. There's a NA in a 1993 Hummer that's got about 700k on...

Re: looking at buying an older H1

Hehe..she's aware of it. Some of the mods, she's actually condoned or recommended, so she's fully aware of what's gone into the truck. Stuff like the Jump Seat, or the knee mod that I inherited...

Re: looking at buying an older H1

And I don't necessarily agree with that statement. I'll agree with the principle you're mentioning, but not the costs. And doing it how you call it "on the cheap" isn't the issue - it's using...

Re: looking at buying an older H1

And how did you come up with that figure for parts?

For me -
A Service: 60 bucks
B Service: About the same
C Service: Gee, unless I need to replace an Idler, Pitman, or Ball Joint, about 80 bucks. ...

Re: No more new H1s

Yes, I have seen that. The entire ArvinMeritor emissions control line comprises of a system that goes between the turbo exhaust outlet and the first stage catalytic converter.

The way I understand...

Re: No more new H1s

Really? And how will they pass Tier 2 Bin 5 Emission standards with the Optimzer 6500? It couldn't pass it now.

Congrats on the Alpha! You'll enjoy it, but I find it very unlikely that the...

Re: hid conversion kit

In a simple version - No, you can't.

Long version - the H13 bulb is designed to have two filaments (high and low beams) off the center axis of the headlight housing itself. If you can imagine a rod...

Re: Hummer Mountain Bike
