Re: ABS and TC lights

My orange 2003 Hummer also likes to give me TC and ABS alarms on cold mornings; especially on Monday after the orange H2 has sat without running over the weekend. The alarms clear after the ignition...

Re: Weird prob- video attached

I suggest you remove the "info" fuse that will deactivate the Onstar. It is in the under hood box near the steering column.

My theory is that the onstar causes low system voltage that leads to many...

What about washable air filters?

My auto parts store wants over $300 for a water washable air filter. And it uses a new canister that must be installed.

Anyone have ideas? Is it worth the money? The dealer says you get 15 more...

Re: Horrible day in my Hummer

Since I had my transmission rebuilt and the front differential replaced, my miles per gallon has dropped from 12.4 to 11.5 mpg.

The milage is all city driving, whereas the 12.4 included some...

Re: Does my Hummer need an air filter?

I would not dream of failing to do oil changes. I believe oil becomes acid with age, and this hardens rubber valve stem seals so they do not seal anymore. The dust in the oil is not really a problem...

Re: Does my Hummer need an air filter?

My father (deceased) drove his cars for decades without air filters with no discernable ill effect.

I never knew him to remove the oil filter; probably because doing so would let all the oil drain...

Does my Hummer need an air filter?

I have a 2003 orange Hummer H2 with 104,000 miles.

My question is whether it really needs an air filter.

My father always threw his air filter away and drove without it. He claimed cars don't need...

Footstep popped out

When my orange H2 slid into a ravine, apparently the black tube that supports the driver's side step received a blow. The step popped out and fell on the ground.

I found it and put it in the back...

Re: Horrible day in my Hummer

The problem with my transfer case resolved itself. It was due to a discharged battery which came about due to two weeks in the shop; (frequent starts without charge time).

I have experienced this...

Re: Horrible day in my Hummer

Its finally over! Two weeks in the shop. My front differential had a hole as big as my fist, and was in three pieces. It needed new gears and a rebuilt transmission.

Now it drives better than...

Horrible day in my Hummer

I drove my Hummer 2003 H2 out into the total boonies last week. I started up a trail I had traversed before but it stopped climbing. I tried to back down the slope, but the orange H2 slid off the...

Re: How to remove ceiling panels

So far, I see no way to remove the paneling. It has a speaker and a hand hold.

Another problem: my TC and ABS warning lights come on for no apparent reason. (I think the battery is low).

How to remove ceiling panels

I have an orange H2 (2003). There is a hum coming from the doohicky above my head which I believe is a speaker for the OnStar. (The specs say it is a fan).

When I took the cover off, the doohicky...

Diagnostic Computer for H2

I bought a diagnostic computer and used it on my orange 2003 H2. The plug is just to the left of the steering column. It gave me a code which meant I had a low signal from a sensor. The sensor was...

Re: Broken Steering cable nut

UPDATE: I got my Orange Hummer H2 back yesterday, with a new steering arm.

The old arm was returned to me. It has a sheared pin, which is about 1/2 inch steel. I do not see how such a pin can shear...

Broken Steering cable nut

Yesterday, driving my orange H2, and suddenly I had no steering. It drifted off the road onto a sidewalk before I could stop. 2003 Hummer with 104,000 miles.

I was going about 25 mph when this...

Need advice on G Force Chip

Gents: I have a 2003 H2 (orange) and I want better gas milage. The GForce chip is said to cost $69 and deliver 10% better milage and 30 horses. Also +30 lb-ft torque.

They say I can install it in 5...

Re: Conversion to LPG

Yes. It seems the conversion costs $4000 to $10000. Then you have to find a source. Looks like another bummer.

Conversion to LPG

I would like to consider conversion of my 2003 H2 to LPG fuel. I live in Arizona.

Has anyone any input on this idea? Have you done it? Cost? Savings?
