REVISED:
Vette owners have learned to change their own oil, I am one, and since you were too, we understand why we never let the dealer do the oil change.
I was just looking at how to do an oil change, since I'm due for my first oil change, and after this oil change, I will change per the computer.
This is what you need to do:
1. Remove the engine shield (front one that says H3). Remove the two front screws and the rear screws.
2. Remove the oil pan skid plate. The front of this plate is held by the rear bolts for the engine plate. Just loosen the rear bolts and slide the plate out.
3. Remove drain plug, drained oil, the installed plug.
4. There is a deflector to allow the oil from the filter to drain into a pan. I punctured the oil filter after loosening, to allow the oil to flow nicely into the deflector.
(Reason I loosen first is just in case the filter will not turn, it can at least be driven back to the dealer.)
Filled the new filter with oil, and installed.
Drain plug torque: 26 N·m (19 lb ft).
Oil filter torque: 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Oil pan shield bolt torque: 20 N·m (15 lb ft)
Engine shield bolt torque: 20 N·m (15 lb ft)
Six quarts of oil with filter. Not difficult at all.
