Tim I cut 5" off mine and put the ball back on. Haven't noticed any reception problems at all. But hey if your reception wasn't as good you were going to replace it any way </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

So I cut 5" off today!
How the F do you get the ball off of the antenna? Do I have to put the ball back on it? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Tim,
It sounds like you have decided which way to go and that was cutting your stock antenna. If you decide that for some reason it is not working let me know. I can get you one like mine or put you in contact with the folks and have them drop ship it to you. I think the cost was $44. Absolutely no troubles going thru car washes and no noticeable loss of reception.

Car washes?

Don't do that. Youre moarker lights are going to get blown off and/ or cracked and you will get leaks starting soon enough. besides, doesn't your ride deserve the hand washed/detailed attention?
