Yea I have not used front plates for over 20 years in California.

I did get one fix-it ticket 15 years ago while driving my brother's company car (reason for being stopped was illigal pass, judge did not submit to DMV, so no conviction on my record). Stuck plate on, had a cop sign off the ticket, took it back off aame day.
