Phil, I think 35s will be do able but close where your pointing out. Typically, GM’s tire envelope also includes tire chain clearance at full lock and full jounce, in most cases it lets you go up a tire size or two with no problem. Also on a leaf spring rear suspension the axil center travels rearward as the springs are compressed’ giving a little more room at that point.
