Dear JRPM,

I know you are asking for those who have tried these to reply. I have not, but I think this may help anyway. I own the Delta Tech Industries HID’s. The reason that I went with these is that, at the time, they were the only one’s available that offered true HID light on both Hi an LO beams. (This may or may not still be the case, I have not done current research.) They accomplish this by employing an actuator controlled moving shield. The shield variably blocks or reveals light emitted from the bulb to the reflector corresponding to the Hi beam portion of light.

I would contact the manufacturer and ask how they accomplish the Hi/Lo beam pattern differentiation. Some manufacturers use comparatively dim quartz bulbs for their Hi beams. If the ones you are considering are true HID on both Hi and Lo, then you are left with a choice between standard or projector HID’s. The differences are these:

Projector type beams generally give a harder (cleaner) cut-off. I like this because I do a lot of night driving on dark mountain roads. This pattern helps to keep you from over-driving your headlights.

Non-projector type beams are nice because rather than having a single hot spot in the center of the lens (like the BMW’s, for example) they emit light from the entire reflector/lens assembly. I prefer the look of this on a vehicle the size of the H2.

I hope this helps.
