Back when I had my 96 Vette, I researched these. Depending on the wheel/tire combination, it was reported that it is possible to destroy the wheel sensor during an extremely low tire pressure condition. I would think you would need to be careful when airing down during an off-road run. If you run over the right sized rock while aired down, you might crush the sensor. This may not be a problem on the H2, but it is something to think about.
Fix-a-flat is a definite no-no!
Also, tire stores have a nasty habbit of destroying the sensors when removing the tires from the rim. Make sure they know the sensors are there BEFORE they start working on your wheels!
