Originally a GM tech friend of mine and I installed the front gears when we did the back. (that was 2 weekends ago)

Like you said, it only lasted a few days and fried the front end....seized the pinion gear to the bearings and the bearings to the case. Ended up having to buy a new case.

This time, I took it to a dealership where another GM tech friend of mine works and he installed everything. You're right, you definitely need some special tools. I hope like hell everything works this time 'cause after putting ring and pinion in the first time, the case, new gears and bearings was another grand.

This tech does nothing but gears and transmissions so I don't think we'll have a problem... like I said, I hope not cause Wednesday I'm driving to Fla from NC.

HNewbie,

I can't tell anything yet. I'll know better after the long drive this week. The magnaflow sounds okay... it's a low rumble... could have been a little louder.

The shifting pattern is better since programming with Superchip allows you to hold back a few rpms before shifting.

I'll give ya a better feedback after I get back from Fla.
