Have you ever tried to use Onstar when you're in a hurry? That bi&^h tells me "slower please" one more time, I'll rip the thing out of the car!
When I asked the onstar rep how to get it to dial "2", he said to me,"say chew, or shoe". And there is no way to dial manually.
Maybe a few beers before dialing would help.
My vote: A combination of both.
