For home oil changes:
Keep all receipts for oil and filter, and make up an excel spreadsheet (or similar) showing miles, oil used, filter, etc. That will protect your warranty.
For express lubes:
Keep their receipt which shows miles, etc. That will also protect your warranty.

Per the Magnuson-Moss act, the manufacturer cannot void your warranty if they do not provide the services for free. Therefore, you can legally change your own oil or have a third party perform the service.

Changing your own oil is not hard at all on the H3, remove a few plates (about five minutes), and you don't have to jack it up at all; plenty of room to slide under.
