That's what I'm asking. What would make them hold up.

I've seen many many racks, and I like a lot of things about different racks. However, I have not seen one more Heavy Duty than the one I have. If you have seen an SMA Brushguard in person, the rack tubes are similar in size and weight to those.

I just don't see them bending unless you really whack it into something with a lot of throttle. That is a tough son of a bitch. The 2 piece rack takes a minimum of 3 people per section to lift onto my roof.

The only thing that could be considered a weak point is the brackets. But they are necesary to lift the rack over the top of the roof.
